Last fall, I saw a TikTok about a couple looking for a photographer for their elopement, so naturally, I found her on Instagram and sent a DM. And honestly, I am so glad I did!
Tori and her Noah are local to Atlanta, and they knew they wanted their elopement to feel intimate, relaxed, and true to them. Instead of a traditional wedding venue, they wanted to get married at a park in the city, and we ended up settling on Piedmont Park. It could not have been a sweeter morning!
Their elopement was simple and intentional in the best way. It was just the two of them, one of their friends who officiated, and a small group of friends there to celebrate with them. Before the ceremony, they read private vows to each other, which gave them a quiet moment together before the rest of the day unfolded. Then their officiant walked them through the ceremony, including the ring exchange, the “I do” moment, and officially pronouncing them married.
Afterward, we spent the morning taking portraits around Piedmont Park, using all the little pockets of variety that make it such a beautiful Atlanta elopement location.

A Sunrise Elopement at Piedmont Park
Their ceremony took place right around sunrise. It ended up being an overcast morning, so we did not get a big dramatic sunrise, but the soft light was honestly perfect for photos.
Overcast light can be so beautiful because it creates even, flattering light without harsh shadows. It made the whole morning feel calm, quiet, and really romantic.
Because we were there early, the park also felt a little more peaceful, which is always helpful for an intimate elopement. Piedmont Park can get busy later in the day, so sunrise is a great option if you want a little more privacy and a slower start to your wedding day.

Even though this was a smaller elopement, they still brought a few meaningful details that made the day feel special.
Tori had a bouquet, and they also brought vow books, a ring box, and cupcakes to celebrate at the end. We made sure to get detail photos of everything after the ceremony, which helped tell the full story of the morning!
For an elopement, you do not need a ton of details. A few intentional pieces can go a long way.
Why Piedmont Park Is Perfect for an Atlanta Elopement
Piedmont Park is one of my favorite spots for an Atlanta elopement because you get so much variety in one location. You have skyline views, stone staircases, grassy hills, tree-lined paths, lake views, and the little gazebo over the water. It gives you that romantic park feel while still feeling very Atlanta.
It is also a great option for intimate weddings because it feels relaxed, easy, and personal without needing a traditional venue. For this elopement, the small guest count made the whole morning feel really sweet and focused. It was less of a production and more of a meaningful morning with the people who mattered most.
Tips for Planning a Piedmont Park Elopement
If you are planning to elope at Piedmont Park, I recommend choosing your time of day intentionally. Sunrise is great if you want softer light and fewer people around, while sunset is beautiful but usually busier.
