There’s something really special about getting to photograph a couple for the very first time!
Rileigh and Nathan told me right away that they had never had photos taken together before, which honestly, is very common for my couples. And if that’s you, I just want you to know… that is completely normal! It’s my job to guide you through the entire process, help you feel comfortable, and make sure you’re actually having fun the whole time.
And Rileigh and Nathan did exactly that.

From the start, they were so easygoing and just willing to lean into whatever I threw at them.
They laughed at themselves, laughed with each other, and didn’t take anything too seriously in the best way. It made the entire session feel light, fun, and really natural.
The overall vibe ended up being this perfect mix of romantic and playful, which is honestly my favorite kind of session.
I always like to give my couples a mix of both structure and freedom.
We started with what I jokingly call the “grandma photos”
—those classic, timeless shots where you’re both looking at the camera, standing close, something your family will love forever.

But then we layered in movement and prompts:

Those are the moments that bring your personalities out and make your gallery feel like you, not just posed photos.
Rileigh and Nathan leaned into all of it, and that’s what made their gallery so full of life.
Their outfits were so good and worked perfectly for this location!
Rileigh wore a white dress that moved beautifully, especially during the more playful moments. Every time she twirled, it added so much softness and movement to the photos.
Nathan kept it classic with khakis and a white button-down, which complemented her look without distracting from it.
Together, it felt clean, timeless, and really elevated—exactly what you want for a garden setting like Cator Woolford Gardens.
I always send my couples a style guide beforehand, and this is a perfect example of how choosing outfits intentionally can completely elevate your session!
I get it. Most couples I work with feel the exact same way at first.
But sessions like this are proof that you don’t need to “know what you’re doing.” You just need to show up, trust the process, and be willing to have fun together.
I’ll take care of the rest.
If you’re dreaming of a session that feels natural, a little playful, and still really elevated, I would love to photograph you.
Whether it’s at Cator Woolford Gardens or somewhere completely different, I’ll help guide you through everything from outfits to posing so it never feels awkward.
